Summer Vacation

Early this June my family and I took two weeks to explore the great West.  We did all the tourist things like going to the Corn Palace, in Mitchell South Dakota and Mount Rushmore.  We went to Glacier National Park in Montana and after that we meet up with some of my family in Gardnier, Montana.

We stayed in a cabin for a week in Gardnier and took the opportunity to go to explore Yellowstone just about every day we were there.  Here are some photos of our journey that we would like to share.

Hanna, Sydney and I at Mt. Rushmore.  It was a beautiful piece of history to see.  The day couldn’t have been more beautiful!Screen Shot 2014-07-28 at 3.46.42 PM

Hanna, Sydney and I in Glacier National Park.  We took time for a photo op on a bridge on “Going To The Sun Road”.  It was open for 16 miles and closed for vehicles due to snow removal the rest of the way, but they allowed us to hike.

In Yellowstone we saw a mother grizzly bear and her cub.  It was a an “awhhh” moment.  I never thought we would get to see this!

Hanna and I with friends on a long day of white water rafting.  I have to say it was exhilarating, until we became part of the 1% who became “carnage” and fell down into the river.  All survived!

My family and friends outside at Old Faithful, who did not disappoint!  Old Faithful is in the background and was about 30 minutes from erupting when this photo was taken.

It was an amazing two week trip that did not disappoint in making memories, learning new things and seeing God’s creations.  We are thankful we were able to pull this trip together with seventeen people and look forward to more adventures in wherever we go in two years.  Safe travels and happy summer plans to you all!
