We know, this post is LONG overdue. However, with this simplistic style, you can mold this design into the holiday season that is soon approaching. Adding some plush stockings and a bit of garland is really all you’d need to transform this setting into a gorgeous winter scene. But, more on that next month; for now, let’s talk about styling the perfect fall mantel.
It’s no secret that the major trend circling design for the past year has been the use of natural elements. We absolutely love this trend year round but it especially works in the colder months that we experience here in Iowa. With all of the gray-cast days we experience during the fall/winter months, it’s nice to bring in the warm natural elements inside. Keep reading to learn how we used natural elements to style this statement mantel.
This bold metallic damask wallpaper creates a perfect backdrop for any decorating you may do to this mantel and helps segway into the natural metals we used on the mantel. When styling a mantel, we start with a piece of art. With this bold wallpaper, we opted for a large chunky mirror. A simple mirror would’ve look beautiful as well; but, we love the chunky wood frame that this piece has. On either side of the mirror we created groupings of smaller accessories laden in metals and wood tones. The small wooden book ends bring the balance of wood tones across the whole mantel. We love the use of these metal vases to tie in all the natural elements in this scene, from the mirror to the fireplace tile.
The best thing about this mantel scene? Everything here was purchased from Homegoods and cost less than $250! Looking this great doesn’t need to cost an arm and a leg.
