New Year’s Resolutions – Home Gyms

Happy New Year!! Hopefully you are all starting off your new year on a good note. All of us here at Elizabeth Erin Designs are excited to kick off this new year with a bang!

I don’t know about you, but after these last few weeks of indulging in holiday treats I could definitely use a detox and a good trip to the gym. The difficult part about getting back on track with my diet is finding the time to actually go to the gym. When it is all said and done, a trip to the gym becomes a two hour process when you include commute time as well as the actual work out. If you have the same feelings as I do, then I think it’s time we put our money where our mouths (and excuses) are and start investing in a home gym. When I say home gym I’m not talking about an extravagant five-star gym, you don’t have to pay a lot to get exactly what you need.

Another factor to keep in mind is comfort. Create a serene space in which you can truly relax and forget about everything besides your workout.

Some of the most important factors that need to be considered when creating your new home gym are things we often take for granted; such as, natural light. Making sure your home gym gets plenty of light is vital to maintaining a positive mindset. Looking outside or at a TV also helps your workout fly by!

Lastly, ALWAYS keep a positive mind set. Don’t work out because you are feeling bad about yourself, work out because you want to maintain, or improve, your health. You can use your surroundings to help keep your mindset clear and positive.
