EED’s Favorite Holiday Traditions

One of my favorite holiday traditions is putting up our tree. It started when I was born and my great-grandmother Fullerton would make all the great-grand children homemade ornaments and put a dollar bill in them. It was something I looked forward to every year and I still have most of them. Every year in our family now we, make or purchase each other ornaments to remind us of something funny or memorable that happened that year. For example, in 2012, my family thought I texted way to much, so they got me “The Texting Queen” ornament and in 2015 we got the girls “Sweet 16” ones since they turned 16. It always so much fun to pull them all out one by one and slowly decorate the tree as we reminisce. This year was a little different since the girls are out exploring the world they were not home to assist us. So Scott and I had our nieces and nephews decorate the tree over Thanksgiving. They had a blast, my tree was decorated in like ten minutes flat which is a world record! I did get them a step stool so they could be a little more evenly spaced:) – Jodi

My favorite Christmas tradition is continuing to be my fabulously Scrooge self. 🙂 I’ve never been a fan of Christmas; but, I do love getting together with my family. Which is why I don’t mind letting them pick fun at my anti-Christmas spirit! – Lexi

I love EVERYTHING about Christmas!! I love the holiday music, decorating the house, setting up the tree, making Christmas cookies, spending time with family and friends, give your time and money to others, Christmas Eve service, opening presents, watching Christmas movies….I could go on and on and on. I freaking LOVE Christmas!!! – Katie

My favorite holiday traditions have always revolved around food. Each year, my family makes different types of Christmas cookies and candies. As a little girl, we use to make candies at my grandma’s or an aunt’s house. We typically spend all day in the kitchen making various types of treats. This year was no different! Among the assortment of treats that we made, my favorites have always been covered peanut butter balls, chocolate crinkle cut cookies, frosted sugar cookies, and pretzel reindeer noses (pretzel with a melted rolo with a red M&M pushed down on top). – Sammi
