Ask the Designer – Can I Afford a Designer?

Question: I’m not sure if I can afford design help. What should my budget be?

Elizabeth Erin Designs suggests landing on a budget for the entire project that allows some flexibility.  Regardless if you are wanting to re-design one room or you’re redesigning an entire kitchen, you will need a budget to handle all the sub-contractors and materials to complete the work. Then, be sure you can allow approximately 10-20 percent of that budget for interior design assistance for selections and project management so they can see your project through to complete satisfaction. A good portion of the designer fees will be made back the working with us, because we pass on our designer discounts from various sub-contractors and vendors.

Another option we offer for even more saving is virtual design assistance. This service is good for DIY clients who want minimal assistance.  All selections are done through emails and over the phone.  You can get the look and feel of hiring a designer, for as low as $175! We are so excited to begin offering this service as we love helping anyone and everyone with their design. You can check our website out for more information on all of our pricing options and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook to stay up to date with everything that is happening!
